This Henri Giraud Cuvée Fût de Chêne is a seriously bold statement. Crafted from a daring blend of 67% of the 2013 harvest and 33% of a perpetual reserve – 70% Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru vineyards of Aÿ and 30% Chardonnay – it delivers the hallmark balance and elegance that Maison Giraud is renowned for. Maturation in Argonne forest oak for 12 months, followed by six years sur lie, has resulted in a champagne that’s certainly earned critical acclaim, receiving a glowing 17.5/20 from Jancis Robinson and a magnificent 96/100 from Robert Parker. The distinctive salinity and remarkable complexity are wonderfully complemented by its presentation box featuring a unique tool – a perfect match for a delightful pairing with fresh shellfish or oysters, wouldn't you agree?
