This Herdade das Servas Reserva is a delightful, if slightly mysterious, creation. Initially, it presents with a classic, deeply garnet hue, brimming with black fruit aromas – think blackberry and cassis, complemented by a subtle hint of cocoa and spice, as one might expect from the Alentejo terroir. Remarkably, this wine earned a respectable 93 points from a leading wine publication, and it’s easy to see why. Upon swirling, it reveals a vibrant yellow colour and an explosion of peach, citrus, and tangerine notes, expertly guided by oak influence. A remarkably fresh and creamy wine with a lingering finish; perfectly suited to accompany grilled fish or, surprisingly, a confit of duck – a pairing that’s sure to delight.
