Herdade de São Miguel Herdade de São Miguel was the first line of wines created by Casa Relvas. These wines are made exclusively from grapes grown on the estate and reflect the dedication we have devoted over the past years. Herdade de São Miguel Colheita Seleccionada is a wine that meets the standard set by previous editions: it has very ripe fruit, smooth tannins, and plenty of elegance. It clearly showcases its origin and has won more than 100 gold medals since the first harvest in 2003. Harvest is mechanically done at night, with total deseeding. Pre‑fermentative cold maceration lasts 48 h. Fermentation is temperature‑controlled (22 °C–28 °C) in stainless‑steel tanks, followed by 5–10 days of post‑fermentative maceration. Malolactic fermentation takes place in a stainless‑steel tank with French oak chips. Fifty percent of the wine is aged in 400‑L French oak barrels for four months.
