Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world, guided by a long‑term vision centered on the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand novelty, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos is increasingly living up to the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally oriented company focused on producing quality wines, driving innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global level. The company owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since 1942, it has invested in the country’s leading wine regions, and, as expected, the Alentejo region has always sparked a project aimed at offering consumers the best of Alentejo wines. In 1998, the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate was completed, quickly establishing itself in the national market for its ability to deliver wines with varying levels of complexity and styles.
