Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision based on the quality of the wines it markets, the novelty of its brands, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑owned company with an international focus, concentrating on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global stature. The company owns approximately 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since 1942, Sogrape Vinhos has invested in the country’s leading wine regions, and as expected, the Alentejo region has always inspired a desire to implement a project that would provide consumers with the quality of Alentejo wines. In 1998, this vision was realized with the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate, which quickly established itself in the national market for its ability to offer wines of varying levels of complexity and style.
