Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision rooted in the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of the brands, and the presentation of its products. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑run company with an international focus, dedicated to producing quality wines, innovating, and developing globally recognized Portuguese brands. The company owns about 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since 1942, Sogrape Vinhos has invested in the country’s principal wine regions, and the Alentejo region, naturally, has always inspired a project aimed at offering consumers the quality of Alentejo wines. Thus, in 1998, the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate was completed, quickly establishing its position in the national market for its ability to provide wines with varying levels of complexity and styles.
