Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of the wines sold, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, the company increasingly fulfills its original goal: to be a family‑run enterprise with an international outlook, focused on producing quality wines, on innovation, and on developing Portuguese brands of global stature. Sogrape Vinhos owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since its inception, the company has invested in the country’s main wine regions, and naturally the Alentejo region has always sparked a desire to launch a project that could deliver the quality of Alentejo wines to consumers. Consequently, in 1998 the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate was completed, quickly establishing itself in the national market for its ability to offer a range of complexity levels and wine styles.
