This Amphora from Rocim clearly had a lively chat with its skins during fermentation, delivering a wonderfully smoky and spicy aroma – quite a statement, really. Scoring 89 points from *Revista de Vinhos*, it’s a wine of firm, dry structure with a notable salinity, a testament to its resolute character. Grown on soils between Vidigueira and Cuba, with their characteristic sandy-clay composition, and then aged with a decidedly ‘vintage’ approach, this wine possesses a genuinely impressive ageing potential – perfect alongside a beautifully grilled white fish, of course.
