This Anas do Sobroso is a remarkably confident wine, driven by Aragonez and Alicante Bouschet. It clearly spent a well-structured youth in stainless steel, fully absorbing the personalities of these key grapes. A lengthy 21-day post-fermentation maceration then added a welcome layer of complexity. And, of course, the aging in 225-litre American oak barrels provided that touch of elegance that’s sure to please discerning palates – particularly when paired with roasted pork, a match that feels almost predetermined.
