Herdade Grande is an agricultural estate located about 5 km from Vidigueira, Alentejo. With a total area of 350 hectares—60 hectares of vineyards, 40 hectares of olive groves, and the remainder devoted to sheep grazing—this property has belonged to the same family for over a century. The viticultural project began with vine planting in 1980 and vinification in 1997, with plans to produce and market 350,000 to 400,000 bottles of wine, of which 30 % are white and 70 % red.
