This Herédias Rosé is a delightfully mischievous raspberry play, subtly infused with a hint of Earl Grey – don’t let the name fool you, it’s a wine, pure and simple. The initial attack is complex, revealing lovely notes of plum and orange zest, but a lingering, saline finish suggests the producer isn’t one for gentle, predictable rosés. Remarkably balanced, it’s the kind of wine that makes you think, “Yes, it’s sweet, but it’s got serious character!” – fantastic with grilled fish or some artisan cheeses.
