This little Pinot Noir from Casa J. Christopher is a genuinely delightful discovery – born from a vineyard first planted way back in 1976 on the south-facing slopes of Chehalem Mountain. Erni Loosen’s German insight clearly pays off, delivering a wine that’s both calming and stimulating, as the critics rightly noted. You’ll find notes of rose petals and raspberry alongside a graceful acidity and a subtle hint of sorrel. It’s a beautifully complex wine with serious potential, and unsurprisingly, it’s earned high praise – a “95/100” from Vinous and a “92/100” from Wine Enthusiast. Wonderful with grilled fish or delicate poultry, really.
