João Clara Algarve Tinto

Description

This “João Clara” from the Algarve certainly packs a punch – a rather exuberant experience, I’d say. Blended with Touriga Nacional and Aragonez, the vineyard seems to have been enjoying a generous dose of sunshine, resulting in a full-bodied red with vibrant fruit. The silver medal it received at the International Wine Competition of the Algarve suggests the winemaker was perhaps striving for a touch more balance – a good effort nonetheless! It pairs wonderfully with grilled fish and arroz de tamboril to tame the fruit’s intensity.
