Bottles of aged wines may show dust traces and damaged labels, which is expected given their age. The National Cellar ensures all wines are stored at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always preserves the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands/regions that, normally, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of aged wines. However, we inform that wine is a living organism exposed to time, and even within a bottle, aromas can evolve in different ways. Thus, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate first, which will help release its natural aromas after so many years closed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, make sure you do so patiently to detect the appearance of sediment, which a typical old wine tends to develop. (Illustrative image)
