“Hexagon” by José Maria da Fonseca is a bold statement – proving that Vinho Verde can truly stand alongside the world’s best. Created to honour the visionary Domingos Soares Franco, this wine embodies his pursuit of a ‘New World’ style, drawing on the sandy and limestone soils of the Setúbal Peninsula. Made with the classic Verdelho, Viosinho and Antão Vaz grapes, and aged in 2nd-year French oak, it delivers an elegant and complex wine with notes of white fruit and minerals. A wine best enjoyed now, but with the potential to age gracefully for up to 10 years – a promise fulfilled by João Paulo Martins, who awarded it ‘Best of the Year’ in 2013. Perfect with grilled fish or seafood to amplify its freshness and minerality.
