The bottles of aged wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is expected given their age. The National Wine Cellar commits to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it also chooses to preserve the visual appearance inherent to their age. We select brands and regions that, by convention, display distinct characteristics in tastings of old wines. However, we note that wine is a living organism that ages, and even within a bottle, its aromas evolve in various ways. Consequently, the National Wine Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine breathe first, which helps release its natural aromas after so many years sealed. If you choose to decant before serving, do so patiently to detect any sediment that tends to form in an older wine. (Illustrative image)
