Description

A family business with almost two centuries of history that, never resting on its laurels, has successfully modernised. José Maria da Fonseca has been operating the wine business since 1834, a testament to a shared family passion that preserves and projects the memory and prestige of its founder. Knowing the responsibility of being, today, the oldest producer of table wine and Moscatel de Setúbal in Portugal, the company follows a philosophy of continual development, investing increasingly in research and production, blending the latest techniques with traditional know‑how. A prime example is the José de Sousa Rosado Fernandes winery in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Alentejo, where the Roman tradition of fermenting in clay jars coexists with the newest technology.
