Julian Reynolds Reserva Tinto

Description

Thomas Reynolds, an English sailor and merchant, arrived in Portugal in 1820, drawn by the wine trade, and had two sons, Thomas and Robert. From Porto, he supplied his commercial warehouse in London with Iberian products. In 1838, the family entered the cork industry in Spain, expanding into Portugal and eventually settling in Estremoz. After the family left for New Zealand, Robert remained in Estremoz at the head of the business, which he quickly developed through the acquisition of new land and the production of quality wines, an activity he pursued with particular dedication and passion. The Alentejo became the lasting home of the Reynolds family in Portugal and of Robert, the patriarch of the family. From this homeland came Robert's eldest son, Robert Rafael, and, from him, Carlos. Carlos had a first daughter named Gloria, Gloria Reynolds. In her honour, and in honour of all her ancestors who lived in the Alentejo, Julian, Gloria's son, produces a quality wine that bears his mother's name: Gloria Reynolds.
