This Kompassus Bical Reserva from the Bairrada region seems to have had a rather bohemian upbringing. Eight months spent maturing in used 400-litre oak barrels undoubtedly imbued it with a touch of philosophical reflection, alongside a noticeable woody character that beautifully accentuates the vibrant acidity of the Bical grape. A delightful pairing with grilled white fish and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil would certainly be worth exploring.
