Kuusu derives from Basque mythology, evoking a goblin‑like figure akin to a scarecrow that once stood at village gates to repel malevolent spirits. This folklore is reflected in the original label of this untitled red, crafted in Toro with a splash of Albillo Mayor. Wine Advocate critic Luis Gutiérrez was pleasantly surprised by its floral quality, aroma and elegance—traits uncommon for the region. It’s a wine to savor, boasting a round mouthfeel, smoothness and fine tannins.
