This Tempranillo, sourced from vineyards in Burgos and Soria, is an excellent example of the easternmost (and least known) part of Ribera del Duero, characterised by an altitude close to 1,000 metres. With 18 months of maturation in French oak followed by another 18 months of bottle ageing, it appears austere at first, but after a while it begins to reveal its aromatic potential and its seriousness on the palate.
