This Ladeira da Santa, driven primarily by Touriga Nacional, clearly enjoyed a rather indulgent slumber – 15 months in French oak followed by a further two years in bottle. It’s a significant commitment, to be sure! The result is a deeply coloured wine reminiscent of cherries, boasting remarkable balance and a wonderfully persistent finish, with hints of toasted wood suggesting a substantial relationship with oak. Absolutely perfect with a hearty beef dish, wouldn’t you agree?
