Founded in the early 1980s, Le Macchiole is one of the historic wineries of Bolgheri and, over the years, has become a benchmark for quality Tuscan wine. The founders, Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli, were among the region’s pioneers and significantly contributed to Bolgheri’s growing reputation through their work creating wines full of personality that became a symbol of the area. Today, Cinzia runs the business with essential support from her sons Elia and Mattia, who, together with a close team of enthusiastic colleagues, play an important role. Le Macchiole is in constant adaptation and ongoing evolution, guided by a careful, contemporary reading of wine and terroir.
