This Levensohn, born from a vineyard replanted in 2001 following the phylloxera devastation, is a testament to both resilience and, let’s be honest, a touch of obsession. Production was initially limited to a single barrel a year, resulting in an incredibly concentrated fruit profile thanks to careful extraction and cool fermentations. The final product is a vibrant red, aged in 75-100% new French oak, clearly showcasing the influence of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. As confirmed by Jeb Dunnuck’s 97/100 score and Antonio Galloni’s 96/100, it’s a wine that truly lingers – perfect with a perfectly grilled steak or a hearty roast.
