Very few producers, especially in Madeira wine, experience a revolution in their history as dramatic as the one that happened with Barbeito. Going from a bulk wine supplier to an instant reference in the Madeira wine region is a feat. All of this happened in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and, together with the Japanese Kinoshita partners, turned Barbeito into one of the most important Madeira wine producers.
