Very few producers, especially in Madeira wine, have a revolution in their history as dramatic as the one that happened with Barbeito. Transitioning from a bulk wine supplier to an instant reference for the Madeira wine region is a feat. It all began in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and, together with the Japanese Kinoshita partners, turned Barbeito into one of the most important Madeira wine producers.
