Producing a limited edition of just 1,500 50‑cl bottles, it displays a deep golden‑amber hue with green reflections. The aroma offers hints of mushrooms, olives and nuts. A highly concentrated, slightly dry flavour is balanced by marmalade and apricot notes. Fresh acidity cuts the richness, leaving a pleasant finish with caramel and white chocolate undertones. The Madeira Wine Company was originally an association of several Madeira wine producers who joined forces to strengthen purchasing and production capabilities. Founded in 1913, the association brought together the family firms of Blandy's and Leacock, followed shortly by Miles and Cossart Gordon, forming the largest producer and exporter of Madeira. Maintaining each company’s unique character remained a priority. By the late 1970s, control had narrowed to a handful of families, with the Blandys holding the majority stake. In 1989 the Blandys, seeking to boost sales and marketing, invited the Symington family from Porto to partner. This partnership continues to this day, positioning the Madeira Wine Company as a leader in Madeira wine trade. The bottling year may not match the accompanying image (illustrative only).
