This Mãos Reserva certainly seems like a young wine with big plans – a Douro white brimming with elegance. Fermented in new French oak barrels, it offers a wonderfully complex nose of hazelnut and tea, a clear nod to the region’s distinctive terroir. On the palate, it’s surprisingly full-bodied, with a notable ageing process, though the acidity is perhaps a little shy, lingering comfortably amongst the rich, buttery notes. Perfect with aged sheep’s cheese or a smoked duck breast – a pairing that’s guaranteed to bring a smile.
