This Mapa Grande Reserva is a real hug of a wine – intensely aromatic with orchard and woodland notes, thanks to a generous, prolonged ageing in French oak. The robust acidity, characteristic of the Douro Valley, beautifully balances the power of the Aragonez grape, and surprisingly, the tannins are remarkably smooth. Definitely one to savour with a hearty beef roast – a wine destined for a long and memorable life.
