This Mariposa Dão is undeniably a wine that makes you stop and admire the colour – a beautiful ruby that’s already hinting at the delights to come. Predominantly made with Tinta Roriz, it’s beautifully balanced with Touriga Nacional adding elegance and Jaen providing structure. You’ll detect notes of wild berries, underscored by a hint of black pepper, reminiscent of a refreshing Dão breeze, alongside floral aromas from the region’s quinta vineyards. On the palate, the acidity is vibrant, the tannins remarkably smooth – like silk – and the finish is remarkably long, a truly lingering experience. Excellent with grilled beef, wouldn’t you agree?
