Marquês de Borba Designation of Origin: DOC Alentejo One of the most emblematic brands of João Portugal Ramos, Marquês de Borba blends the tradition of Alentejo with exceptional quality, a standard that has been upheld since the brand’s first harvest in 1997. The name comes from the fortunate coincidence that João Portugal Ramos’ vineyards and cellar are located in the sub‑region of Borba, and that a relative held the noble title of Marquês de Borba, a title created in 1811. With a presence in many parts of the world, the Marquês de Borba brand is today a symbol of the region, carrying its identity with it. **Harvest:** The grapes are hand‑picked early in the morning, into small crates, to preserve freshness. **Vinification:** Produced using the Classic Method, it blends Pinot Noir, Touriga Nacional and Aragonez. After 24 hours in a chill‑room, the bunches are loaded directly into the press. Once pressed, the must is cooled in the vat, and the wine is clarified by decantation. Following decantation, alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature to preserve aromas. **Ideal Pairing:** Excellent with appetizers, light dishes such as carpaccio or sushi, and perfect for moments of celebration. **Allergen Information** Contains sulfites.
