Menin Douro Estates O Menin Reserva 2020 is born from the rigorous selection of the best parcels of the estate. With a total area of 42 hectares, the vines range in age from 45 to 100 years. The careful interpretation of each parcel’s development over the vegetative cycle allowed the identification of those with the greatest potential to give rise to this wine, reflecting the full identity and richness of the Douro terroir. **Viticultural year** The 2020 growing season was characterised by strong temperature and rainfall fluctuations and was globally considered a hot and dry year. The high rainfall recorded during spring caused significant pressure from fungal diseases, requiring rigorous monitoring of each variety and parcel. Summer was very hot and dry, promoting rapid ripening of the grapes and producing wines of high concentration, aromatic intensity and excellent structure. **Harvest** The harvest took place between 12 September and 9 October. Different parcels were harvested in a phased manner, respecting each one’s ideal ripeness point. The grapes were hand‑picked and transported to the cellar in 18‑kg crates, preserving their integrity and quality. **Vinification** 30 % Touriga Franca, 30 % Touriga Nacional, 20 % Tinta Roriz, 10 % Tinta Barroca and 10 % Old Vines. Each parcel was vinified separately. After a meticulous selection on a picking tray, the grapes were destemmed, crushed and led by gravity to stainless‑steel fermentation tanks. A pre‑fermentation maceration at low temperatures was carried out for 24 to 48 hours, depending on the variety. Alcoholic fermentation occurred between 23 °C and 25 °C.
