After years of selling to other producers, Michel Ogier only began bottling his own wines late, in the 1980s. Stephane, his son, took the reins of the Domaine at the end of the 1990s and built a great reputation for himself. After a decade of winemaking he established himself as one of the largest Côte‑Rôtie producers in existence. He works small vineyard plots along Côte‑Rôtie. His wines are typically Côte‑Rôtie but refined in a modern manner. Nothing is too systematic here; every detail of the winemaking process is carefully considered, and the techniques are adapted as needed. The wines mature in oak barrels for 18 to 24 months in 20‑100 % new oak. They are glorious wines—charming and seductive, yet with the density and dimension required of a true Côte‑Rôtie.
