Montaria “Montaria” is a tribute to man's best friend: the dog. Our Montaria, a real German shepherd, lives at Herdade da Candeeira, in the heart of Redondo (Alentejo), and daily accompanies the viticulture team, sharing the work and spirit of this place where wines with soul are born. Alentejo is Portugal’s largest and most diverse wine region, with a Mediterranean climate influenced by the continent, featuring large temperature swings especially in interior zones near the Spanish border. It boasts an impressive range of grapes: whites (Antão Vaz, Roupeiro, Arinto) and reds (Aragonês, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet). The grapes were carefully selected from the best plots. After destemming, a brief cold maceration was followed by controlled fermentation at 16 °C to preserve primary aromas and the wine’s natural freshness.
