This Monte do Álamo is a seriously impressive wine, boasting a deep ruby colour and a clear conversation with oak – those barrel-aged notes are particularly delightful. It’s a generously structured wine with wonderfully smooth tannins, promising a long, dramatic finish. One suspects it’s still got a few more chapters left to write, and it’d be fantastic with a good grilled steak or perhaps some wild mushrooms.
