Touriga Nacional, full-bodied and voluminous, combined with the sweet and structured Tinta Roriz and the complex aroma of Jaén, grows on slopes at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters. The vines are cultivated within an integrated pest‑management program. Pest control is achieved by manipulating the soil. Harvest is done by hand, grape by grape, when the ideal ripening point is reached—usually between the second half of September and the first half of October. The grapes are collected in small 10‑kg crates. These wines are produced after fermentation at a controlled temperature to preserve all of their aromatic elegance, in large wooden barrels and stainless‑steel tanks, for 20 days. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and then ages for 18 months to enhance its structure and complexity. Quinta de Lemos Dona Santana is a wine made from the four grape varieties of the Dão region, with notes of jam and cocoa. It displays dark, mature fruit, creamy and elegant. The finish is sweet and appealing. It contains sulfites.
