The production of Moscatel, as a fortified wine, resembles that of Port wines, resulting in sweet wines where alcoholic fermentation is stopped by adding grape spirit. After a period of skin maceration, the Moscatel wine is placed in barrels for ageing and refinement of its aromatic profile. These wines are made from the various Moscatel grape varieties, known internationally for their aromatic richness and natural sugar concentration. The bottling year may not match the image presented.
