The Quinta do Portal is a Portuguese, family‑owned, independent winery that has wholeheartedly embraced the concept of a “Boutique Winery.” In addition to producing special‑category Douro and Port wines, it also exclusively produces Moscatel do Douro and olive oil. This project, launched in the early 1990s, was based on Quinta dos Muros, a century‑old family property of the Mansilha family, where Port had already been produced for four generations. With a forward‑looking vision, they immediately focused on creating internationally‑classic Douro wines, becoming part of the first wave of the new generation of Douro producers dedicated to quality. Consequently, sustainability has become part of everyday life at Quinta do Portal, where the vineyards operate under Integrated Production, requiring compliance with specific standards to ensure environmental protection. They are also members of The Porto Protocol, a movement whose values are Sustainability, Optimism, and Sharing, achieved through Responsibility, Collaboration, and Commitment, promoting a world where companies unite their efforts to delay and alter climate change.
