This Muxagat Tinta Barroca, nurtured on the schist and granite slopes of Meda, retains a wonderfully youthful charm thanks to the winemaker’s careful touch. Hand-picked and gently cooled, it’s fermented with indigenous yeasts – the result is a remarkably fresh wine, bursting with notes of cherry, raspberry, and a subtle floral hint of rose, spiced delicately. Scoring 88 points, it’s a supremely easy-drinking wine that still manages to showcase the complexities of the Douro Valley. Wonderful with roasted chicken or a quality Iberian ham, perhaps?
