This NaTalha, born from the tradition of barrel fermentation in Vila de Frades’ barro (clay) vessels, is a delightfully honest expression. Initially, the nose bursts with ripe tropical fruits – mango, passionfruit, perhaps a hint of pineapple – before revealing a vibrant, persistent acidity that wonderfully contrasts with the generous character of the Perrum, Antão Vaz, and Síria grapes. A truly complex wine, showcasing the Roupeiro’s power and the Antão Vaz’s refreshing lift, it’s a fantastic match for grilled fish or, ideally, some perfectly seasoned sardines with olive oil and coriander.
