Description

This Natus from the Alentejo is clearly a wine that’s been through quite the ordeal – and it shows. Hand-picked and fermented using the traditional “foot treading” method (yes, it does sound a little dramatic!), this wine boasts a wonderfully distinctive character. Maturation in century-old Portuguese oak barrels has resulted in a remarkably fine texture and a compelling aroma of red fruits balanced with herbaceous notes, all underpinned by that characteristic Alentejo balsamic tang. With a stellar 18 points from Grandes Escolhas, the wine’s vibrant acidity promises a long, surprising finish – ideal for pairing with a hearty roast and, let’s be honest, plenty of good storytelling.
