“This Niepoort Quinta da Lomba Branco 2016 is a wonderfully perplexing wine from the Dão – a product of a remarkably generous winter followed by a dramatic spring. It seems those ancient vines benefited immensely! The result is a seriously age-worthy wine, having undergone a lengthy barrel and bottle maturation. Blended from Encruzado, Bical, Cerceal and Rabo de Ovelha, it showcases the distinct terroir of the region, and the late harvest – picked on September 12th – ensured an exceptional concentration of flavour. A truly excellent choice with seafood, particularly cod and fatty fish.”
