This Niepoort Dry has a rather charming – and perhaps slightly obsessive – obsession with dried fruits. The palate is impressively concentrated, with a finish that practically begs for a good chat. Given its 89 points from Wine Spectator, it’s clearly a wine designed for thoughtful enjoyment, particularly alongside a robust sheep’s cheese, and perhaps a drizzle of olive oil on crusty bread.
