In the national wine landscape, there is no more consensual producer than Niepoort, and its long history begins in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort to arrive in Portugal. Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and promising. Thus, in the 5th generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable producer in the world of wine, recognized as one of the most important figures who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy with those with whom he is always creating irreverent wines.
