Description

The Redoma Reserva is a white wine from the Douro that perfectly captures the character of the region’s old vineyards. Made from grapes grown on vines over 80 years old, planted at altitude on micaceous soils, it has always aimed to express depth, elegance and identity. Fermented spontaneously in French oak barrels where it ages over fine lees, it displays great complexity and a structure marked by minerality and freshness. On the nose it reveals floral notes in harmony with the wood, while on the palate it is vibrant and precise, finishing with a long, slightly saline finish. In Portugal’s wine panorama, there is no producer more respected than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort arriving in the country. After entering the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a prosperous business. In the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort emerged as an indomitable wine producer, recognized as one of the most important figures who has worked for and continues to work for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his own legacy with those who continually create irreverent wines.
