The Redoma Reserva is a white wine from the Douro that perfectly captures the character of the region’s old vineyards. Made from grapes grown on vines over 80 years old, planted at altitude on micaceous soils, it aims from the very beginning to express depth, elegance and identity. Naturally fermented in French oak barrels, where it ages on fine lees, it displays great complexity and a structure marked by mineralism and freshness. The bouquet reveals floral notes in harmony with the wood, while on the palate it is vibrant and precise, finishing with a long and slightly saline finish. In the national wine landscape there is no more widely recognized producer than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort arriving in Portugal. Starting in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indomitable figure in the wine world, recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked—and continues to work—for the benefit of Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also shaping his own legacy alongside those who constantly create daring wines.
