Let's just say this Niepoort Rotulo isn’t afraid to make a statement. The winemaking, with the gentle touch of the lees in concrete tanks, hints at a respect for tradition, but with a contemporary twist. Made from Encruzado, Cerceal and Rabo de Ovelha grapes, it’s delivering a wonderfully lively acidity and a long, lingering finish – perfect, I’d imagine, with some freshly grilled fish or a delicate oyster.
