Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly set up a business that would prove both prosperous and forward‑looking. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a pivotal figure in the wine world, recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked and continues to work for the benefit of Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his legacy with those who constantly create bold, unconventional wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects, spanning practically every national wine region and several abroad. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
