Starting out as a Port wine merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a producer who has become an indispensable figure in the wine world, recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked and continues to work for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of growers, helped them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy with those who are always creating irreverent wines.
