Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of bringing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision built on the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑owned, internationally‑focused company that concentrates on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global level. The company owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Offley, established in London in 1737 by William Offley as a wine‑trading house, quickly began exporting wine and later producing its own Port, earning the brand worldwide recognition for high‑quality wines. The company’s breakthrough came when Joseph James Forrester joined as a partner. Known as the Baron of Forrester, he played a pivotal role in expanding the international trade of Port and was the first to map the Douro River and valley, earning him acclaim and membership in several European societies of Geography and the Arts.
